There are lots of monuments to visit in Naples, the Castel dell'Ovo, the Royal Palace, the National Museum. I mean, certainly the time available is not enough to see everything this city has to offer.
Despite this, they all know Naples for its proximity to Mount Vesuvius. And when we speak of Vesuvius the first city we think is Pompeii. The ancient Roman city destroyed by the eruption of the volcano in 79 AD. C .. So what could be better than making a one-day visit from Naples to Pompeii. Anything. Obviously before evaluating this hypothesis you need to be sure you have enough time. If you want more information click here Vesuvius.
Going from Naples to Pompeii is quite simple. The distance between the two locations is really small and then get to Pompeii by car is fast enough. You need to take the A3 towards Salerno and exit at Pompeii.
Even reach the ruins of Pompeii by train is quite simple, you have to take the Circumvesuviana train from Piazza Garibaldi and get off at POMPEI - SCAVI.
Agreed to make a one-day visit from Naples to Pompeii? Yes of course. The archaeological site is immense, however, a day is definitely enough to visit the site, especially if we leave early in the morning.
The real problem is being able to visit Naples in a few days, Naples really is immense and it is a city that has so much to offer.
My advice is to make a one-day visit from Naples to Pompeii only if we remain in Naples for more than five days.
Have a good trip.
